Alan Felice is a NYS licensed psychotherapist and Board Certified Diplomat in clinical social work with thirty years experience. He received his MSW degree (Master of Social Work) from Stony Brook. He also earned certification as a specialist in the treatment of drug and alcohol abuse focused in the use of cocaine.
He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the NYS Society of Clinical Social Work Psychotherapists. From 1980 to 1985, he was the Coordinator of Clinical Services at the Center for Psychotherapy. From 1986 to the present, he is the Associate Director of the Center for Marriage, Family and Individual Counseling.
In 1993, he completed a post graduate program at the NY School for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. This program is chartered by the NYS Board of Regents. Upon completion of this program, he became certified as a psycho-dynamic psychotherapist.
He is experienced working in both the short term and the psycho-dynamic psychotherapy counseling models. One model confronts behavioral issues. The other model deals with the underlying causes of symptoms. He is kind, patient and most supportive.
Although many of his colleagues are in-network, his personal service is out-of-network. He will provide you with the necessary statement to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
